Indique Indian Restaurant
Indique is a contemporary Indian Restaurant located in Washington DC. The word Indique is coined by combining India and Unique. The two story courtyard is bordered by carved marble railings. Bold colors and rich fabric lend a refined yet casual ambiance to the inviting space. Stark and stylish tableware works as the canvas for the artful creations of the kitchen. Appearances and flavors are given equal attention and both excel. Appetizers named First Taste drawn on traditional Indian favorites and contemporary innovations like Tapas or Meze, and served on small plates. Tandoor specialties shine here with rare coastal seafood and regional dishes from the south of India. Attentive service complements the sophisticated kitchen.
Rated 5.0 Their cocktails are incredible - delicious, well-presented, AND have great names. My favorite is the House of Cardamom. They make their own syrups and bitters in-house, which is neat. Oh and their food is good too! It's fancy but not pretentious - I feel comfortable eating dal without utensils here, if you know what I mean.
Rated 5.0 The attendant was helpful. The servers were kind of friendly. But the food was not so good. We have ordered only Vegetarian Paneer option - Paneer Pasanda. Paneer was very hard. We have also ordered Samosa chat. Something in the chat - either chickpeas or the potato stuffing had a funny stale smell in it. We complained to the manager. By default neither naan nor roti had butter on it. But that was ok. Dal tadka was good.
Rated 5.0 Came here for brunch with a large group. Beautiful, cozy environment and great bistro style indian creative brunch food. Especially loved the attentive, patient service.
