Tried the weekend thali at Salem RR in McKinney and was seriously impressed. We are Indian food connoisseurs! It takes a lot to impress me ?? You can immediately tell the food is made from scratch. The thread paratha was incredible — fresh, flaky, soft, and clearly homemade. Probably one of the best parathas I’ve had in the area. The chicken biryani was packed with flavor and made with real bone-in chicken, which made such a difference. Everything tasted deeply seasoned without being overly heavy. The eggplant dish was also incredibly good with a lot of depth of flavor, and the Chicken 65 was honestly one of the best I’ve had — perfectly marinated, perfectly spiced, crispy outside but still juicy inside. Fish stew... So much flavor and tender... You can tell there’s real care behind the food here. Definitely worth trying if you want authentic South Indian food in McKinney. My 8-year-old loved it too, he had the chicken 65 and it was a great spice level for him. I cannot wait to go back to try the mutton biryani, and the crab curry!
