"Our school aims to promote and preserve the Indian Classical Art through a series of classes and workshops which are offered mainly for Kathak, which is a major classical dance form, from North India. Artistic director and Kathak artist Sonali Loomba is the primary instructor who teaches the nuances of this ancient dance form to anyone who is serious learner. These classes are offered in person in three different locations i.e. Utah, Fairfax and Bangalore and online classes are offered to anyone above the age of 7. Prior dance experience is not mandatory. All classes start from basic beginner level which slowly progresses to intermediate and advance levels. Anyone who wishes to learn this art form needs dedication, discipline and hard work. Sonali has been learning this dance form from her Guru Hari ad Chethana from Bangalore and now continues to teach and perform in India and abroad. As a performer, She has given numerous dance presentations as a soloist in India and USA. She has performed in leading dance festivals like Hampi Utsav (Hampi, India), Brahmotsav (Tirupathi, India), North American Festival of Colors ( Utah, USA and Vegas, USA) ,Living traditions ( Utah, USA) , World Folk fest ( Utah, USA), Utah Arts festival ( Utah, USA) to name a few.She has recently presented kathak at the 2019 TEDx Salt Lake City. She is a dancer par excellence who is known for her delicate dance gestures yet powerful performances. She has created a niche in the dancing sphere in USA- combining the techniques of kathak and fusing it with western style dances like flamenco and tap.Sonali has been given the credentials of being the first kathak performer and teacher in Utah. The school has been training and continues to train dance enthusiasts from the community and aspires to keep the art form alive."
