Most commonly, the doctor performs primary care exams for regular patients who visit the office.

You will be able to see or easily speak to your physician about any medical concern in an unpressured environment as more where more time is allotted for appointments than with most primary care physicians.

Urgent care visits are exactly what they sound like. Visits to the practice where urgent, or prompt, care is needed to address an illness or injury. These appointments are commonly arranged at the last minute or the patient simply “walk-in” to the practice. Since a person never plans on getting sick or getting hurt this is expected by the doctor. Most of the time, urgent care visits are walk-ins with no appointment is scheduled, and this can often lead to the patient waiting for care. At the practice, this isn’t the care. The entire staff works to see the patients quickly and is open for longer times than a normal doctor’s office.

Not all women need a pap smear. For women over the age of 30, a pap smear is recommended as a way to detect cervical cancer. Early detection improves the chance for survival.

Anyone who is older than six months of age should consider receiving a flu shot. Children who are less than six months of age should not receive a flu shot. For everyone else, the flu shot is recommended.

A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is a disease that is contracted through sexual contact. The disease spreads from one person to another through the bodily fluid such as semen or vaginal secretions. The disease may spread through contact with infected skin or mucous membrane.

Women’s bodies produce less of progesterone and estrogen, the sex hormones, as they age. This phase is commonly known as menopause. These hormones have a major role in reproduction as well as additional internal processes. Hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, uses bioidentical hormones developed in a lab to “replace” the hormones lost during this phase of life. This helps women to avoid numerous symptoms and risks which can hinder their daily life.
