Smitha started learning Kuchipudi Dance from a very young age of 4 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sri.Bhagavatula Sethuram garu. Sethuram garu has direct lineage to Bhagavatula and Vempati families from the village of Kuchipudi. He taught her to love dance, instilled passion by laying a strong foundation for perfection. She is still refining her art and continues to learn from him even today. Her first solo performance was at the age of 5 and since then she have given several solo and group performances on multiple occasions for prestigious television channels, departments, and organizations. In addition to traditional items, she was fortunate to have been able to learn and perform several dance dramas such as Yashoda Krishna, Prahlada Pattabhishekam, Sowndarya Lahari, Ashtalakshmi Vaibhavam, Panchaphutalu, and Ramayanam.
