My daughter and I have been coming here for the past 1 year. It is a fun and encouraging environment for anyone who wants to learn dance. I highly recommend Netra Arts.

We discovered Netra Center for Arts just this autumn when we were looking for arts classes for our 7 y.o. son. And we were lucky to do so! The atmosphere is very kind and loving for the kids to learn and enjoy arts. My son looks forward to each and every class and runs to the studio, impatient to start. The teachers, who work with him, Deepa and Latusa (I am sorry if I misspelled the name) are very knowledgeable and really patient. The art classes are group classes, but the groups are small, and the teachers give enough individual time to each student. I have no reason to give fewer than 5 stars.

I wanted to rejoin Bharatnatyam dance for almost last 9 years but was very busy with studies and job so never got any chance to join. When I moved to the bay area with my family, I found netra arts for bharatnatyam and took a trial class. I really enjoyed my first class. The environment was very friendly. And now, I'm learning Bharatnatyam from Deepa ma'am for last 7 months and it's been a great experience so far. Her teaching is methodical and thorough.There are good opportunities to perform in public as well. I hightly recommend Netra Arts.

Deepa has been a great teacher for my 6 year old. My daughter has been attending the classes for a year now. She looks forward to attend the classes and have valuable time at her dance classes. The teacher care for students and their learning in dance steps. I will recommend Netra Arts for all

Netra Center for Arts and Culture is full of tradition and culture. I learned Kuchipudi a few years ago and when I moved to the Bay Area, I knew I wanted to complete the Dance and Deepa is an amazing artist with extensive knowledge of Classical dances not limited to Kuchipudi. She is an inspiration when she dances!

I have been learning dance from Deepa Menon for the last one year. The place feels very warm, almost like a family. Deepa ma'am is extremely talented and teaches multiple forms of classical dance along. I really have fun going to her class and performing with the girls

We were lucky to find Netra Dance Studio for our daughter. Deepa is a wonderful teacher. She's very patient with the kids and will make sure each and every one is learning all the steps, even if it means taking more time per class/student. We are extremely happy with the classes!

My daughter is learning Bharatnatyam in Deepa teacher's class for 2 years, Deepa is really a great teacher, all the kids loves her, she is very patient with kids. My daughter loves her each dance class, we are very happy with the Netra arts and Deepa teacher and we highly recommend it

Deepa is an amazing teacher . My daughter goes to her indian classical dance from the age of 4. It's been going great so far. It not a very overwhelming environment , so my daughter loves to go back there every week. I would recommend Netra center for classical dance or music for any age.

My nine-year old daughter has been going for the past year and half to Netra Center to learn Kuchipudi dance from Deepa Menon. She is a one of the most dedicated teachers I have seen and I don't mean only among dance teachers. In addition to teaching dance, Deepa often comes up with various ways to improve the learning experience for the students. Some examples are explaining the theory behind the dance, telling relevant mythological stories, adding basic music lessons, encouraging them to perform on stage to improve their confidence, maintaining a warm, inviting, and a 'green' studio with a small carbon footprint. Deepa also has excellent contacts in the city, which enables her to arrange several programs that give her students opportunities to perform. I am very grateful to Deepa, for being such an excellent teacher to my daughter.

This review is long overdue. My daughters have been going to Netra Arts Dance studio (for Bharatnatyam) for 9 months now. Our experience has been nothing but fantastic. Deepa Menon is absolutely wonderful, very talented and her passion towards her work shows through her students. She ensures that her students are involved and are dedicated to learning. Her advanced-level students are amazing leaders themselves. They follow their leader and are led by a perfect example of talent and passion. We are lucky to have found a perfect environment for our kids to learn about dance, music, culture and above all TO HAVE FUN!!!

No brainer destination if your child (or you!) is interested in honing their art skills. My daughter loves her weekly sessions and the fact that she gets up early on the weekend to make her studio time is proof enough!

My son is an ADULT and he wanted a memorable event for his Birthday with his friends from college, highschool (even Middleschool!) So, I arranged to have these guys all get together at Netra Arts in Foster City. The paints & canvas & supplies are provided for each student by Deepa (Artist) The studio is spacious and would easily occommodate a large group. (we only had 8 in our party) The price was reasonable and worth every penny in restrospect. Deepa gave step by step instructions for the recreating of the painting my son selected. Also...Deepa provided gourmet snacks & wine & homemade scones throughout the event! The guys followed Deepa's painting instructions closely...some embellished, LOL. I wasn't sure how grown men would enjoy this type of venue, lol. I was so pleased & happy that it all came together so flawlessly, so enjoyable, and presented so impecably by Deepa that I literally cried!! The guys had such fun painting, drinking wine, eating & creating their masterpiece for almost 3 hrs. And the best part is they brought home a memorable creation to honor this very special 'get together'!! Deepa is a kind and talented instructor with an attention to detail. Thank you Deepa. I highly recommend this venue for a celebration of ALL AGES!

I booked a painting class with Deepa for my birthday and I'm completely thrilled with the experience she provided for me and my friends! There were snacks, wine, and freshly baked blue berry scones right from her oven! Deepa is such an amazing host and a very talented painter as well. She was very warm with us and super accommodating and friendly, my group and I felt very well taken care of during our class. She was able to curate a very memorable painting experience for us, plus the painting I made and took home is a great keepsake and reminder of my wonderful time at Netra Center! Thank you so much for everything Deepa, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to dive into their creative side!

Netra center for arts and culture indeed deserves more than 5 stars. I am pleased to know Ms Deepa Menon Ma'am and learn bharatnatyam from her. She is an amazing artist, with sound knowledge of Various classical dance forms. She is friendly, fun loving, energetic, professional and disciplined. She has her own TV show Artist Today air every Saturday at 12pm on KTSF26 channel. Which is must watch! I got lucky to see her live performance recently and I don't have enough words to describe how amazing it was. As a beginner I had zero knowledge of classical dance. But she made sure that I should get right understanding about posture and steps. Which is more important to get correct basics of any dance form. I Recommend this center to everyone!

My 6.5-year-old daughter just started learning drawing and painting from Deepa this month and it has been an amazing experience already. Deepa is so loving and patient with both little kids and teenagers. I am so impressed by the space Deepa has created, full of warmth and love. My daughter loves her art classes and looks forward to going to them every week. Can’t wait to see my daughter become a little painter under Deepa’s guidance. Deepa is very flexible and accommodating and takes personal interest in every child’s growth. I feel so lucky to have found Deepa and Netra Arts !

I have been doing Odissi for the past seven years, and it’s honestly been such an amazing experience. I have learned a variety of dances such as Stayee, Basant Pallavi, and Mokshya. Along the way, I have met so many new people and made lifelong friends. Dancing has been a great learning experience for me because of the skills and technique involved. It was also incredible to gain more knowledge on Oriya culture, my culture, and meet others of different cultures as well. Gayatri Aunty is a talented and dedicated teacher who always wishes for her students to do well and become magnificent dancers. I was able to become the dancer I am today under her splendid guidance. Odissi has taught me to be patient and hardworking in order to see results. I am so glad that I am learning such a beautiful dance form— Odissi.

Amazing group of dedicated kids, parents, and teachers! My 14-year-old daughter, Maya, has been learning Odissi Dance since the age of five, under Guru Gayatri Joshi’s guidance. It has been a satisfying experience watching her evolve into the graceful dancer she is today. Thanks to the iGurukul community for their ongoing support and encouragement at every step. Even transitioning over to virtual classes was a breeze and classes are as engaging and collaborative as ever! I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

Gayatri Joshi is an amazing and very hardworking teacher. My daughter (Fiona) has been learning dance from her since 2012. It has been a blessing in disguise for her not only she has gained the confidence to perform on stage but also has made friends who are like family now.

We love Bhairavi ji and her academy, she has been a Guru for my daughter since last 11years and has been instrumental in creating the passion for Indian Classical Dance for our daughter who is seeking to achieve a diploma in coming years. If you want your kids to be attached to their Indian heritage, joining Nrityodaya Kathak Academy is a great way to get started. I would highly recommend it!!!!

I have seen two academy production shows, Anantha: Infinite Possibilities and Katha: The Untold Stories of Kathak. Both shows were spectacular and very fun to watch. The shows incorporate talent of all ages and each scene tells a a mini story following a larger all encompassing theme. Best of all, the dancers can seriously dance like none other! You can tell they have spent almost their entire lives practicing their craft.

I have been training with Bhairaviji for a while. She has been guiding me throughout my kathak journey. She spends countless hours with her students to build a relationship of trust and compassion. Her seemingly endless reserves of energy and encouragement to all students to thrive, motivated me to push my limits and to reach my full potential. Thank you Bhairaviji for sharing with us your passion for dance and for inspiring us to do our best.

We have been driving from San Diego to Walnut every week for the past 6-7 years so that my daughter can learn Kathak from Bhairaviji, and it is worth every moment of it. She is an amazing kathak teacher, very caring and very thorough. She is a fantastic human being and if I were to do this all over, I sure would. I recommend her to anyone wanting to learn this wonderful art form with reverance, respect and details.

I have been learning at Bharavi Aunties class for almost 9 years. She is an amazing teacher who works hard with every student and makes sure to the best of her ability that the student is the best they can be. She is a great role model for little kids and she has and always will be a great inspiration for me. Bhairavi ji is a great teacher for Kathak dance. I had a very nice experience working with her as a vocal performer. She is very detail oriented teacher for her students. I would definitely recommend her for any aspiring students.

We have been going to nrityodaya Kathak for almost a year now. Ms. Bhairavi is the best guru anyone can get. She is thoroughly professional, really patient with the little kids and has a true love and passion for Kathak. My daughter is really motivated and practices even without me asking her to. I have to thank Ms. Bhairavi for making my daughter love Kathak and she truly enjoys it. I would recommend for anyone who is looking Kathak to start here, you will not regret.
