Creativity Explored
Creativity Explored
we have expanded our programs as a means of encouraging our artists to move from mere presence to full participation in the Bay Area's vibrant arts community. Artmaking is traditionally an isolated activity, and we offer opportunities for artists to interact with others when making and marketing art. We model ourselves after an artists’ collective, affording studio artists opportunities to work individually or collaboratively with their peers at Creativity Explored and/or with artists in the greater community. The studio operates five days a week and is open to any interested adult with a developmental disability. A person seeking services does not need prior artmaking experience, but rather needs to demonstrate an interest in becoming involved with the creative process. We have encouraged people with a wide range of skills and abilities to find their own artistic voice and to pursue a career in the visual arts. Our four core programs are described briefly below.?Creativity Explored provides studio artists workspace, instruction, and opportunities to explore a wide variety of media. Studio artists choose media and subject matter, and trained professional artists are available to assist each studio artist to develop a meaningful arts practice. Printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and fabric art are included in a program designed to meet the needs, choices, and preferences of each studio artist.
Rated 5.0 A crucible of creativity that I fall into whenever I'm in the area - amazing artists, the coolest art, great events - one's creativity blossoms just breathing the air in Creativity Explored! Thanks to Rita Harowitz for introducing me to this magical place!
Rated 5.0 I love these people and their works!!! I love to meet the artist, visit with them, heart stories and come away with an amazing piece of artwork! Please visit!
Rated 5.0 I was literally moved to tears here! I was invited to walk around the studio where the artists were working. I was afraid I might be disturbing them, but they were so friendly! They said hi and shook my hand. One woman, Mirian, was very proud to show me her textiles. I was walking by another woman who told me she just made a picture of a plate of chicken. She was very upset because they had recently lost a community member, but she wanted me to sit and talk to her. I feel so blessed and honored to be invited into their world.
Rated 5.0 In awe of the art displayed tonight! In one of the best neighborhoods in the greatest city. It will make you smile and be inspired!
Rated 5.0 Making art healing again. It's so very moving. xo
