Thapasya is a cultural organization engaged in spreading the ancient and yet, relevant art traditions of India with emphasis on traditional dance form. Our dancers are trained in the Pandanallur tradition of Bharatanatyam and are well known for their ability to connect with diverse viewers with their signature group choreography, colorful costumes and eclectic music. Children should be 5 years or older to enroll. Lessons are offered to Adults as well. Students are required to wear the THAPASYA uniform kurti with black leggings and dupatta. Hair should be tied up and away from the face with a bindhi on the forehead. Guru Sudha Krishnamurthy has been trained in Bharatanatyam for over 15 years under Smt.Vasantha Aravindan of Koothambalam. She strives hard to bring her passion, culture and love for this art through teaching children in the United States.
