The inspiration to start the academy came from the realization that dance offered an excellent channel to introduce students to the rich cultural heritage of India. This is the central theme of Indian tradition building up dedicated disciples who effectively carry the message of the respected teachers. The Indian school of thought is built on the principles of Gurukula, which effectively demonstrated the Guru-Shishya Parampara, Proper Talim, Discipline, Regular Riyaz and Dedications, which are the guiding principle of our Gurus. Here at TARANA DANCE ACADEMY, dance isn’t just an activity, it’s a way of life.

Rated 5.0 Debjani, founder of Tarana Dance Academy is an amazing dance teacher, friend, and a motivator for all working women. I met Debjani four and half years back while I was looking for a good dance teacher for my daughter. My search ended when I met her as I saw the dedication and love she has for Kathak. She has moulded my daughter beautifully in these years. Seeing how much of fun it is to watch everyone perform, even I very hesitantly joined her dance class (I have two left feet when it comes to dance). Debjani has changed my challenge into something very interesting. Few things about her - She pushes you to your limits while still making sure you are having a good time. She is always willing to help and is encouraging you to try new things. I have never felt more comfortable with my dancing (non dancer enthusiast) and I know for a fact that she has shaped the way I look at dance. She is extremely dedicated, open to new ideas, energetic despite her full time job and all evening of classes, and really easy to talk to. I highly recommend joining, because she will definitely change the way you look at dance!
