Ok so this suburb South Indian restaurant is actually a hidden gem. From the outside it seems like most restaurant but we took a chance and was surprised by the fresh quality of ingredients and how unique each dish tasted. Definitely try their dynamite chicken, it's spicy and delicious ??

Addictive, Authentic & Worth Every Bite!
This is my second time enjoying a vegetarian meal at Tirukkupuswamy, and I can confidently say—it’s absolutely addictive and truly authentic. Some of the flavors lean toward Chettinad-style cooking, which makes it even more special.
This is easily one of the best spots for vegetarian meals in the area. The spice level ranges from medium to slightly high, perfect if you enjoy bold flavors. They offer an unlimited thali experience served beautifully on a banana leaf over a plate. There’s an adult unlimited thali (around $20), a regular version, and even a kids’ unlimited thali (about $14).
Be prepared for a wait—it’s that good. I highly recommend calling ahead or putting your name down in person. Trust me, it’s worth it.
One of the standout details: ask for the paruppu podi with ghee. They bring it in a lovely three-cup set with paruppu podi, ghee, and the star of the show—an authentic, traditional sun-dried mango pickle. I’ve honestly never seen this level of authenticity in any restaurant before. While most places serve store-bought pickle, here you can taste the effort and tradition in every bite.
The thali itself is a feast—variety of vegetables, fries, gravies, and a bread. During my visit, they served a flaky layered parotta, which was hands down one of the best in town—crispy, soft, and incredibly satisfying. You also get multiple fried items like cauliflower, okra, and sometimes mushroom fry.
The whole experience feels like a “virundhu” (festival feast)—so many dishes, so much abundance. And the hospitality? Exceptional. The staff keeps coming back to serve you—you never have to ask or wait.
It truly feels like being fed at home, with warmth and generosity. Just one warning—don’t try to finish everything! There’s so much food that you might need to book a cab instead of driving back home ??

We had the non-veg meals. It was very very delicious, all the gravies chicken, mutton and fish was awesome. It was more like home food.Normal spicy and tasty.
Chicken biriyani was very tasty.

We had an amazing experience at Kuppuswamy Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Kongu flavors. We tried the Chicken Pallipalayam, Kongu Mutton Biryani, Parota with Mutton Curry, and Kanyakumari Fish – every single dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The spices and taste felt very homely and traditional.
A special mention to Madhan, who explained each item so well and helped us choose the best dishes. He was very friendly, welcoming, and made our dining experience even better.
Great food, great service, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic South Indian non-veg dishes. Will definitely visit again!

The food here is so authentic and it reminds the taste buds I had back in Restaurants in Tamilnadu. We had Non veg Thali and the mutton gravy was so awesome. Briyani was excellent and it continued with chicken gravy, Hand made flaky Parotta , Fish gravy, pepper rasam.. I strongly recommend if you are looking for a great authentic South Indian Feast????

I was so excited to try authentic Tamil Nadu style food right here in Schaumburg. They have some very unique kongu dishes - I tried the kongu chicken soup and kongu mutton gravy - both outstanding. The mutton melts in your mouth and the soup is spiced perfectly. I got to meet the owners - Aravind, Muthu and Bala - they were very friendly and shared some of their inspiration into starting the restaurant. Also met chef Vinod, Pugal and other staff who were very friendly. Looking forward to their grand opening Nov 23rd.

We recently catered our Tamil community’s annual Deepavali celebrations with food from TKU, and it was an absolute hit! The Chicken 65 and Kongu Chicken Biryani were the stars of the entire menu — both dishes were so delicious that they were completely finished with no leftovers at all. The flavors were authentic, perfectly balanced, and truly reminded us of home-style cooking.
The onion raita was another standout, thinly sliced onions soaked in thick, creamy yogurt, making it the perfect refreshing side for the biryani.
Every single person who attended loved the food, and we received countless compliments throughout the event. A big thanks to TKU for providing such high-quality, flavorful dishes that elevated our celebration! Highly recommended for any community gathering or special occasion.

After a long time finally good good tamilnadu style food. Thank you guys! Chicken gramathu varuval was like eating in Chettinad area in tamilnadu. Excellent. Chicken 65 was like the typical road side tase and flavorful. Rasam rice was the ultimate. No one in this area offers rasam to my knowledge. Really good. Thanks guys! Keep it up! We ll come again
