Navarasa academy was started in the year of 2004. It started with an idea of having Dance, Music, Percussions & Yoga under one roof. Very quickly it gained the respect of many and several students started training at Navarasa. Navarasa teaches in a traditional way offering classes in Bharatanatyam, Folk dances, Yoga, Contemporary, Mridangam, Kanjira, Ghatam, Tabla, and Vocal music. Bharatanatyam, Folk dance, Yoga, and Contemporary are taught by Navarasa's director Anandi Srinivas. Mridangam is taught by Venupuri Srinivas. Anandi began her career in dancing at the age of 10. She joined Darpana Academy of Performing Arts at that age and has been dancing for over 25 years. Anandi came to Tampa in 2004 & started the Navarasa Academy. Under her guidance, Navarasa has blossomed & grown into a successful institution.
