Mona Mitra is a classically trained dancer, with a "Visharad" in Kathak. She has been trained under Pandit Chunilal Goswami and Dr. Amita Dutt, who is a senior disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj and the Dean of Fine Arts at Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata. Mona has been teaching dance for the last 15 years. In the Boston area, she has been teaching Kathak since 2010. She and her students from Mona's Dance Academy have been performing for various cultural and non-profit organizations and in local TV channels. Prior to Boston, she had taught in Los Angeles, Portland (Oregon), and India. Trained in Kathak (Jaipur and Lucknow Gharana) since the age of 4 and conducting classes for kids and adults for the last 10 years. Recipient of Visharad in Kathak. Have performed in Los Angeles, Portland and Boston and in various cities in India. Have performed for the local TV channels here as well as in India. Are you looking for dance costumes?
