I’ve dreamed about learning Kathak for a long time, so when I first came to the academy and meet my guru Himanshi I felt thrilled and grateful that she took me as one of her students. I was so challenged by the rhythmic complexity.From Himanshi guru I learned that Kathak is not just a dance or something you can memorize and replicate, it’s about the devotion love and respect for everything you do, it’s dedication though years of a endless journey. Himanshi is able to show her essence and love for Kathak so her students can feel it and transform it in something beautiful when we dance. Because of that coming to class is one off my favorite things to do, and when we start the music and do our namaskar I’m the happiest.Today I can say that I found what I was looking for when I first dreamed about learning Kathak, My guru gave me the chance to overcome things that I believed to be my limitations I’m more confident in myself and more aware of my body, I know that I have so much more to learn and improve, but I have the confidence that I’m at the right place with the best and kindest Guru! I’m looking forward to all that I can learn. Thank you Himanshi for giving me a chance to feel this beautiful culture.

Rated 5.0 Himanshi Dance Academy is certainly the right stop if you are looking to learn Kathak, understand its roots and its corelation with Indian culture and also have fun doing it. I am learning at Himanshi's center over a year now and I feel she is the ideal dance 'Guru'. She has a unique way of passing on the Kathak dance knowledge to her students, she passionately explains the details and background of every move and step. She encourages her students to explore and works on their skills. I always look forward to her classes, it gives me inner happiness and makes me feel confident about learning Kathak. I feel outstanding and lucky to be a part to Himanshi Dance Academy. Thank you Himanshi for everything!

Himanshi's dance classes are more than just fun weekly dance classes. She both models and teaches that maturity, dedication, mental focus, confidence and respect are key attributes for serious students of kathak dance. She is a role model for sure. She is the best! She has been the motivation,inspiration and support for my daughter who has grown into beautiful and graceful dancer. She worked patiently with her for years to bring out the best in her. I can’t thank her enough for her contribution to my daughters journey as a dancer and making her feel and connect with kathak & Indian culture. Thanks Himanshi!

Rated 5.0 I have always found Kathak to be a beautiful form of dance and I wanted to find a teacher who was truly passionate about this art form. Himanshi Patel is definitely such a teacher, and I have grown so much as dancer with her guidance in just one year. Not only has she taught me steps, expressions, and grace, but she has brought me closer to my Indian heritage in a way that I have not experienced before. I am excited to see how else I will grow while in the Academy of Classical Dance!
