Dr. Valluvan Jeevanandam and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1984. To date, I have performed approximately 5,000 cardiac surgeries, of which 2,000 involved heart valve procedures. I regularly perform surgery at University of Chicago Medical Center.I believe my greatest strength is the ability to take on complicated patient cases that other surgeons may deem inoperable. Patients deserve to know which surgeon can truly treat their complex condition, and I am able to explain what can be done with the patient and their families, tackle multiple surgical scenarios, and execute a successful outcome.I believe that a surgeon should consider the patient as a whole, not just the technical piece of an operation but all facets of a patient’s being; the physiological and the emotional.
