From the time I can recollect, it has been my obsession to maintain our personal finances to the last cent, a trait I probably inherited from my maternal grandfather and my mother. Even before I knew anything about the financial planning, it has been my habit to build spreadsheets to answer various what-if scenarios. My academic background in Ph.D. and brief experience as a scientist provided that extra impetus to sharpen my analytical skills. Prior to becoming a financial planner, I have been an Information Technology professional. After almost twenty years of service, when I left Dell Technologies in late 2020 as Director, I wanted to pursue something that I enjoy more and where I can serve the community better. When I came across the financial planning profession and the certification offered by the CFP® Board, it was an easy decision for me to become a financial planner, since it is not only something I enjoy but I can help other families in managing their finances. After completing the Certified Financial Planner Program from the University of Texas at San Antonio, I passed the CFP® Board examination. However, I am not a Certified Financial Planner® since I have not yet fulfilled the experience requirement of the CFP® Board for granting CFP® designation.
