Madras Pavilion
Madras Pavilion Austin is an Indian vegetarian restaurant providing South and North Indian cuisine. It is a gourmet trail of the many diverse regions of India. It serves food from as many as six different regions of India and has a team of specialist chefs from India, each producing their own regional specialties. They offer a richly-varied menu of fresh, natural ingredients, wholesome sauces and flavorful spices. All of their food is natural and freshly-prepared daily on the premises with no additives or preservatives. They had many more reasons that might make your dining experience even richer. Madras Pavilion is a purveyor of authentic Indian Cuisine featuring South and North Indian Vegetarian fare as well as regional specialties such as Chaat and Indo-Chinese. Madras Pavilion formally opened in Austin in 1998 with a mission to serve authentic vegetarian cuisine as enjoyed in South India, using the freshest ingredients and time-honored traditional preparation methods. Over the years, we have expanded our range to incorporate dishes from throughout India and have innovated new dishes to take advantage of the best local produce available. Now we offer a unique menu that is available all day, a daily lunch buffet, free delivery throughout the metroplex, special Vegan and Jain menus, an extended catering menu, weekend specials, onsite dosa & chaat offerings, tiffin delivery service, a private banquet hall for hosting parties, and full event planning services. Despite all the changes over the years, we still follow our mission every day by freshly grinding our spices each morning, mixing our dosa batters in a traditional stone mortar and pestle, and baking our naans in a traditional clay oven. While there are easier methods to prepare food, we think the extra effort shows in the quality and taste of our dishes. Come experience the authentic flavors and traditions of India; come experience Madras Pavilion!
Rated 5.0 Amazing Vegetarian Indian Food/ Vegan Thursday's. The bread pudding and Gobi Manchurian cauliflower is amazing! Not to mention the big pancake/crepe with filling inside (complementary)!! No other Indian restaurant like this.
Rated 5.0 As always, we drove off on a typical "date Friday" without any idea as to where to go. We decided to skip Selma and have dinner instead and I'm so glad we did because this is by far THE best Indian food I've ever had. At first we were a bit concerned since we were the only ones in the restaurant but opted to give it a shot. Paging through the menu we didn't know what to order and finally agreed on the 5 Course Dinner for Two which includes: mulligatawny soup, vegetable cutlets, masala dosai with sambar and chutney crepe, sag paneer curry, vegeetable curry of the day, tadaka dal curry, specialty rice vegetable pulav, naan, and rasmalai for dessert. By the main (4th) course neither of us could finish chewing and we asked for a box (we ended up needing two!). We did accept the fifth course because of course there's always room for dessert. My only regret was not taking my camera phone with me to document every moment of this heavenly experience!
Rated 5.0 We just got madras delivered for the first time and we loved it! I ordered the special vegetable curry, the cauliflower, potatoes gave it the perfect texture. It's my new favorite meal! We will for sure be ordering from here more often. :)
Rated 5.0 We liked the food & also service was good. We are awaiting for another visit when we visit Austin.
Rated 5.0 The food was very good, the service was very good. I enjoyed the food, and it was really filling, though I guess that's because I ate a lot of carbs. It was very spicy and flavorful. I didn't miss meat at all. If you're a vegetarian, this place has zero meat that I could tell. In any case, I ate with a co-worker who is vegetarian and she is from South India and she liked it. I was glad to find a place to go with her where she can get food she enjoys. Blessings.
