SkySlate is a new, innovative after-school education program designed to offer the highest level of enrichment, provide the utmost convenience, and be entirely environmentally-friendly. The SkySlate program was created with three principles in mind: 1) To offer world-class education 2) To offer the utmost convenience 3) To be economical, for both the environment and your wallet. Being an entirely digital program, SkySlate doesn't require you to drive to and from physical learning centers, allowing students to study anytime, anywhere. Digitization also means there's no need for wasting paper on worksheet packets so common to traditional after-school learning programs.

In theory, after-school educational enrichment is a fantastic idea. Public—and most private—school curriculums typically leave much to be desired, with crowded classrooms and a lack of ability to accommodate individual students' unique needs. After-school learning programs can help pick up the slack, reinforcing concepts and techniques established in school studies to help prevent students from falling behind, while often better developing their strengths and identifying and reducing weaknesses and struggles. Unfortunately, traditional after-school learning programs are filled with problems for students and inconveniences for parents. This is why we've founded SkySlate—a program that does away with wastefulness, one that doesn't require any driving to and from physical learning centers, one that offers both Common Core support and advanced, competition-level preparation that is adaptable to each student's needs, allowing our SkySlaters to study Math, English, ACT and SAT preparation courses (and soon, Science) anytime, anywhere.

SkySlate teachers are experienced, passion, experienced, and based in the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan (U.S.A). We do not mix students from different grades (except for SAT/ ACT)—SkySlate is a highly-focused program, allowing teachers to work with small groups, offering more individual attention to better students' learning. In general we try to keep 10 students or less in a class, except in ACT / SAT foundation courses.

Our classes are usually on weekdays between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM (EST) or on weekends between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (EST).

For each course, SkySlate homework takes an average of approximately 20 minutes every day. Some students can take more or less time based on their current abilities. This works out to about 7–10 worksheets per week for each course. Our goal is to advance students' academic skills, helping them reach their potential, not to overwhelm them, drowning them with coursework. They already get enough of that at school!

Internet access is only required for participating in live tutoring sessions each week, and for downloading/uploading weekly worksheets. The upload/download process takes less than a minute. Once the worksheets are downloaded, students do not need internet access to work on them. Students can work in the car, while waiting at an activity...anytime, anywhere. Students don’t even need a pen or paper, they can "virtually" write directly on the tablet with their fingers using our unique SkySlate app (free to download after registration).

The SkySlate app is compatible with iPads or Android tablets. We strongly recommend a 10-inch tablet as the text on the SkySlate digital worksheets will look the same size as on a printed paper. Our app works on any size tablet (even smartphones), but students may have difficulty reading some of the smaller text on screens smaller than 10 inches. ​​
