Hale Violin Studio
Our goal at Hale Violin Studio is to nurture healthy, balanced, versatile, growing, creative musicians. We value the development of good technique, achieving mastery and building confidence at each step along the way, and creating tools for musical artistry and expression. The process of learning to play a musical instrument cultivates a myriad of life skills, including awareness, focus, self-discipline, patience, and perseverance. Studio-wide Practice Challenges help to fuel a daily practice habit for many students each year (and make our studio much more colorful!). Music connects people. We help parents and children learn to work together, to confront challenges and celebrate successes. In Suzuki and adult group classes, students form new musical friendships, learn from, motivate and encourage each other. At the end of each semester, students practice their performance skills and share musical achievements, followed by a meal, with family and friends in a celebratory recital-potluck. Students are encouraged to connect with and be inspired by the wider musical world by attending concerts, participating in Suzuki neighborhood play-ins and institutes, music festivals, youth orchestras, and camps.
Rated 5.0 Emily Hale is an awesome violin teacher! I am an adult novice with an obstinate set of learning issues - probably because I'm an adult novice. Emily presents great exercises, metaphors, and visualizations to focus my mind on my playing in effective ways. Each lesson she works with me to identify practice goals that help me acquire new skills and conquer habits that hold me back. After working with several other violin teachers before Emily, I find that I have progressed best with her instruction. I now hear music in my playing instead of just...sounds. Highly recommend!!
