Founded in 1985 by Hasita Oza, Gurukul Kathak Dance Academy is the longest running Kathak academy in the southeast United States. Since its inception, more than 100 students have passed through these walls under the careful tutelage of Hasita Oza, enriching their lives through the art and exploration of traditional classical Kathak dance instruction.

Rated 5.0 I was fortunate to witness the Gurukul Kathak Dance Academy's production of Radha's veil at the 2017 Basant Bahar in Cary, NC USA. The show was beautiful and spellbinding, an excellent representation of Kathak storytelling. I was amazed at the stamina of the dancers, entertaining for over an hour! The costumes were mesmerizing, my eyes filled with swirling images of love and dedication - both in the story and in the commitment of the dancers. I highly recommend attending any of Hasitaji's productions, and if you can, taking classes with her. She is truly a dance treasure!!
