Rated 5.0 Visited this place twice and got my blouse done. I am impressed with consistent quality, service and urgent delivery. The owners are very friendly and supportive. I would highly recommend this place.
Rated 1.0 DO NOT COME HERE!!! Definitely should have trusted the few yelp reviews that try to steer clear from this place. And to think, I sent 6 other girls here thinking they’d do a good job. Atul & wife are absolutely cheats - gave my wedding sari blouse here at the end of July for pick up on August 10th, they reassured me that the blouse will be ready. I messaged via FB to confirm completion on Aug 8, called to confirm on the 9th and of course, came here today Atul’s wife played dumb (honestly though, she really pretty dumb, so the “played” part is debatable) for 45 minutes saying she could not locate my blouse. She threw around a ton of blouses claiming they all were mine...Then the story changed that she had sent the blouse out to a different tailor. Then she asked me to pick a blouse off the rack and she’s stitch it for me on the spot. When I asked her to call Atul ASAP, she claimed that her husband had a funeral to attend and that it was an emergency situation so he is not available to help. My blood was boiling at this point. After my fiancé came in to the store, and after almost an hour of arguing, she finally goes to the cabinet and pulls out the unstitched material - they never stitched the blouse and knew very well that they hadn’t! She was whole heartedly making up bullshit for an hour thinking I’d buy it. Got my money back, but after driving out from Philadelphia to NJ for this shitty place and for your typical scumbag Edison tailors, I’d advise everyone to avoid coming
Rated 1.0 Beware of the good reviews, the owners offer a discount if you leave them 5 stars. My family and i had a very negative experience with them. We waited almost 1 month for our clothes to be tailored. We called every week to check if it was done and they kept saying it will be finished the next week. They were unbelievably rude. And after the one month the clothes still do not fit properly. Horrible and dishonest company.
Rated 1.0 DO NOT GET YOUR CLOTHES TAILORED HERE I hardly ever leave reviews. But Atul and Meena screwed up so badly that I have to warn others. We gave them 5 sari/lengha blouse pieces a month in advance to be stitched. When Atul took our measurements we specifically told him how we wanted the blouses to look When we came to pickup there were so many issues: 1. All the blouses that were stitched were MUCH shorter than we had requested. 1 actually showed underboob 2. They could not find one blouse in their cluttered and disorganized office. They claimed that we had not given that blouse to them and refused to look for it. After 5 minutes of US searching we found it stitched! So they lied to us that we hadn’t given it to them 3. One blouse had such shoddy work done, it looked like it was completed by a freshman in fashion school. The neckline and straps were SO uneven 4. One blouse remained unstitched. The fabric was lying in the bag that we had given them. This was a blessing in disguise after seeing how badly they botched the other blouses What made it worse was their behavior. Mistakes happen, maybe there was miscommunication on how we wanted the blouses to look. But they lied several times, accused US of being irresponsible & not giving the blouses to them. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE For the sake of your clothes, wallet & sanity STAY AWAY from this tailor. There are several Indian tailors in Edison that know what they're doing. Unfortunately for us, Kinnary is not one of them
Rated 5.0 In the summer of 2018, I was in dire straits. My wedding was in 2 weeks and the lehenga I had bought in Delhi needed alternations. I had never had traditional Indian clothes altered in the US before and had no idea where to go. My mother-in-law-to-be had told me about Kinnari, and though I was skeptical after seeing some of these online reviews, I was also desperate and decided to give them a call. My mother and I spoke to Uncle on the phone and explained what needed to be done. My lehenga skirt had to be shortened and the can-cans removed. Uncle and my mom brainstormed an idea to make the can-cans into a separate skirt, so I could wear them under my lehenga if I wanted that particular look, but could also easily remove them myself. We repeatedly emphasized that it had to be completed in a week. Then off we drove to Iselin. While the basement store was small and no-frills, Uncle and Aunty understood exactly what I needed. He explained that he would cut the length from near the top of the skirt so that the embroidery at the bottom would not be disturbed. I hadn't thought of this simple but very smart solution. A few days later, I called ahead to make sure it was ready and then went in. The can-cans had been beautifully removed and made into a separate skirt as promised. The length was shorter but still needed a minor adjustment. They were able to make that change in an hour's time while I grabbed lunch nearby. On my second trial, the skirt was absolutely perfect.
