I came across Satyaradhana Institute of Performing Arts many years ago when I was desperately in search for a male Bharatanatyam teacher. As a young boy, I was very insecure about my love and interest for this art form and I wanted a male Guru to guide me and be my role model as I navigated this journey of self discovery through dance. Dr. Francis Barboza fulfilled that and so much more. 14 years ago, Dr. Barboza took me under his wing and generously taught me from the simple basic steps (adavus) all the way to entire Margams/repertoires. Thanks to his guidance I have grown significantly as a dancer, student, and human being.
