Our main focus is the detection and treatment of skin cancers (abnormal "moles," pre-cancer lesions, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma). We perform comprehensive skin examinations for the detection and treatment of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions. We perform biopsies of any suspicious or changing lesions. Our practice treats skin cancers with either Electrodesiccation and Curettage (ED&C) or surgical excision in our office under local anesthesia.Akash Patel, MD was born and raised in the United States. He grew up in North Carolina and has lived in the south for most of his life. He is married and has two beautiful children.Dr. Patel has always done well in school. He graduated from NC State University with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was designated as a Valedictorian of the 1996-1997 graduating class (a class of roughly 6,500 students).
