Apsaras Arts Dance Group was established in Singapore by Srimathi Neila Sathyalingam in 1977. The Apsaras Arts Dance Group has grown and 13 students have completed their Arangetrams in the past few years. The main objective of Apsaras Arts Dance Group, located in Richmond VA, is to create an awareness of Bharatha Natyam in the United States, while maintaining the highest and best standards for teaching and performing. Currently, our Indian dance group has over 100 students divided into 4 groups: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and RAPAS (Richmond Apsaras Post Arangetram Students). With Uma, there are 3 teachers: Mrs Meena Veerappan, Mrs Priti Patil, and Mrs Lakshmi Vadiiv.
