Chandra Dance Academy’s mission is to endow education and tradition of the ancient art of Kathak through a fresh, and youthful perspective. While keeping consistent with the ancient style, we add a modern athleticism and flair. Our focus is to perfect the Nritta, Nritya, and Natya aspects of Kathak through dedicated training. We offer Kathak and Bollywood for all ages! Founder and Director, Brittny Chandra, hails from Pandit Kundan Lal ji’s Jaipur Gharana. Pali Chandra is her Guru. Pali Chandra was raised under the tutelage of maestros Guru Vikram Singh, Pandit Ram Mohan Maharaj and Mrs. Kapila Raj. Brittny has also learned from Pandita Guru Maneesha Sathe ji, who is a disciple of Pandit Natraj Gopi Krishna ji. Brittny is a graduate of Auburn University with her Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Education, Kathak Visharad certification from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, and she is a member of the National Association of Schools of Dance. Brittny has been dancing since she was five in various forms of dance such as hip hop, ballet, tap, and jazz.
Rated 5.0 Britnny Ji is so vibrant and funny! She is a lovely dancer. I'm so lucky to have discovered her talents. The patience and flexibility of Britnny Ji is an added bonus. Novice adult dancers, like myself, are embraced and encouraged. There are two locations on the north side of town and that's a bonus for those of us in Gwinnett and North Fulton.
