Janaki Sivaraman
Anita Sivaraman started dancing at the age of four at Nrithyashala Academy, a dance school run by her mother Mrs. Janaki Sivaraman, herself a disciple of the renowned Padmashree Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. She is currently under the tutelage of N. Srikanth. Anita has received critical acclaims throughout her career for her graceful and soul stirring Abhinaya as well as her beautiful stage presence. Her unique dance style, derived from the Nrithyodaya academy incorporates Natyashastra’s “Karanas” into the Bharata Nrithyam style. In addition to her Bharata Nrithyam activities, she has also learnt and performed Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Kathak and Odissi with well-known performers in these respective fields like Meenakshi Seshadri and Ravi Vempati. Anita is currently receiving training in classical music, modern dance, western music as well as the piano.
