Surabhi Sharma Cholayil
Mrs. Surabhi Sharma Cholayil learned Hindustani vocal music from various gurus starting from Prof. Ved Prakash Sharma during her elementary school days. She performed as guest artist in Jammu Radio singing folks songs in Dogri language during this period. She continued her musical journey with guidance of eminent vocalist Pandit Jagannath Shiv Puri and received Master Degree in Hindustani music from Pracheen KalaKendra, Chandigrah. She performed several Hindustani and Bhajan concerts in Jammu, Chandigrah including DoorDarshan and All India radio. She received advanced vocal training under the renowned vocalist Prof. B.S.Bali who is senior disciple of Pt.Bhim Sen Joshi. She was awarded the title 'Sangeet Shree' by Navi Dogri Sanstha of Jammu in 2009. At present, she lives in Germantown, Maryland and is teaching Hindustani vocal, bhajan and light music.
