Shatila
Riad Shatila founded Shatila Food Products in 1979, in the heart of the historic city of Dearborn, Michigan. He began with a small retail establishment on Warren Road, a handful of employees, and the dream of providing customers worldwide with the highest quality, most authentic Mediterranean sweets possible. In the late 1990s, after years of passion and dedication, Mr. Shatila moved his small bakery into a larger establishment on Schaefer. He also opened a large Manufacturing and Shipping Department, located today at 8505 West Warren Avenue. The shipping department processes and ships orders to customers both nation and worldwide. Along with the shipping department came the launch of the website, customers ordering an endless variety of delicious options to choose from with the added convenience of shipping pastries to their doorsteps. To reward his hard work and constant efforts, Mr. Shatila received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1995. He received this award from the Arab Chaldean Council for his contributions to the community and expansion of the business, which became a Dearborn landmark. Mr. Shatila accepted the award alongside his wife, Zeinat Shatila, who stood by his side and supported him in furthering his business expansion. In 2000, Shatila Bakery expanded on 14300 West Warren Avenue as a state of the art, modern retail bakery. Today, customers come from different states to visit the Dearborn landmark for its high-quality desserts, service, and upscale ambiance.
