15 Years
Hindu Temple Society
The Hindu Temple Society (HTS) was formed in 1978 by a group of dedicated and visionary Indian-Americans in the Lehigh Valley. HTS aims to meet the religious and cultural needs of Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. The Temple, named Shantiniketan, was built in 1985. Major renovations were completed in 1992 and 2007. HTS is managed by a Board of Trustees and an Executive Committee. The Board is elected every two years in odd-numbered years and the Executive Committee is elected every two years in even-numbered years. Only a small quantity of dry Prasad is allowed in the temple sanctorum. No plates and cutlery are allowed. Please exit out of the temple sanctorum into the main lobby area to eat more Prasad. They say "one man's trash is another man's treasure". But your trash is no treasure for the Temple it is a liability. Please do not bring unwanted items from home and leave them at the temple. We love to recycle. However, we are NOT a recycling center.
