This is a very good music institute. The teacher Dhara Bakshi helps understand the basics of music very nicely. I am learning from her for last 2 years. They also conduct various activities for all students throughout the year.

I have been taking lessons at ICMS for a few months now and it’s been a great experience Dhara is such talented artist and an excellent teacher . She goes at the students pace , takes time to explain and suggest corrections and is really patient with all of her students . Each class is well thought out and organized . I really appreciate that the lesson recordings are available to practice and refresh at the end of each class . At first I was a bit skeptical about learning classical music online but with a bit of creativity In using online platforms and making a few adjustments it certainly is possible and very enjoyable! I look forward to this continued journey and am very grateful to be part of the ICMS family !!

Our family is fortunate to have my two sons (age 13 and 8) and I enrolled to ICMSC and learning from our teacher - Dhara Bakshi. With super organized notes, class discipline, a small teacher to student ratio, we feel very motivated and encouraged to learn and follow the highly focused curriculum. The recordings and detailed class material are super handy and helpful for whenever and wherever we like to practice singing. Feel lucky and blessed to be a part of this fast growing music school! I feel extremely blessed to be a part of the school. Dhara is a patient, kind and very talented teacher. She makes her students feel very comfortable no matter what level we are at. I feel I want to practice more and do better and better in each class and make her proud. Even though they have their hands full, running the school at full capacity, I feel, she is always there if I have any question or if I need any help understanding the material. Ms Dhara is a gifted teacher with lot of patience with little children. She is a great singer herself and knows how to reach to young minds. She makes singing simple, step by step process. She provides constant encouragement to the children. She knows how to bring out the best in them! I appreciate one on one classes the most! My daughter has been with her for one and half year now and I recommend her without any reservations. We are lucky to have found her in the local community! Sanjivani.

Dharaji is wonderful with the young kids! She is very patient and kind but also motivates them to learn and practice. We have been doing classes online and it has worked out very well with no technical issues. Also, it is very helpful to have audio recordings on Google classroom to practice from. Overall, the classes and curriculum are very well organized and teaching methods are very effective, even for the little ones.

Dhara Bakshi is a great music teacher, and really makes you interested in what you are learning. Individually, she is an excellent singer, and is great at passing down her knowledge in a way that's systematic, efficient, and fun. I enjoy taking classes from her! If you want to learn, do so! Oct 2024: Update on my ongoing music learning experience at ICMSC. Has been three years now and it continues to be an amazing, enriching, & enjoyable experience. Dhara ma’m is very motivating and goes the extra mile to make our learning process fun and effortless. ICMSC has now added Live Tabla for some sessions which adds immensely to our understanding. Dharaji is super talented and gifted teacher - a rare combination. She is very patient, encouraging and dedicated. Ruchirji and Vagmi do an excellent job of keeping everything organized and respond to student queries in a timely manner. I really look forward to music lessons and feel motivated to practice. Blessed to have found ICMSC. If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would.

I have been learning from Dhara ji since past 6 months. Our batch consists of all adults. We make so many mistakes, don't practise enough, but she never shows any frustration or disappointment. She is very patient. She explains the technicalities of each song in detail. She makes each one of us recite each note and does not proceed with the lesson unless all of us are on the same page. She is really a very good teacher. At the same time, she is extremely talented. Her singing is so beautiful. I feel lucky that I came across ICMSC and signed up for the classes.

To elaborate: (1) There is core sincerity; a genuine interest in making students learn and appreciate classical music (2) The curriculum is structured but the teaching is not mechanical. Students are taught values of aesthetic presentation and discipline (3) Dhara-ji is super friendly, patient, and encouraging but the content is not dumbed down (4) The class size, format (group + solo singing), and use of technology works well (5) There is an effort by Ruchir-ji and Dhara-ji to cultivate a sense of community rather than just some commercially-oriented classes.
