Learning is gained from a combination of courses and clinical practicums, and students in all tracks except RN will be positioned to write the NCLEX-RN professional licensing exam. RN track students build upon their existing nursing skills.For clinical experience, BSN students have access to top hospitals and medical centers in Greater Boston. This plus coursework, labs and practicums contribute toward preparing (traditional track) students for the NCLEX professional licensure exam. UMassB’s NCLEX-RN exam pass rate (first-time test takers) has been 90% or higher in recent years, and graduates typically secure employment in one year or less after passing the exam.
