Chirag Desai
My name is Chirag Desai. I fight for the “little guys"—the u underdogs, the victims, the fighters, the survivors, the powerless, the ones who have been wronged—when they need help the most. I hear you, I am with you, and I will fight for you. I was born in Zambia (in Africa). My family immigrated to Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, when I was 7 years old. My parents were both blue-collar factory workers, and we did not have a lot of money. I left home (and my family) when I was 18 years old and chose Charlotte, North Carolina, in pursuit of the American Dream. I knew I wanted to be in the United States and attended UNC Charlotte for psychology. Shortly after graduation from UNC Charlotte, I moved to Morgantown, West Virginia, for law school. So, though I’m not from here, I chose to be here in West Virginia. My journey made me resilient, and you need a resilient advocate. Through my journey, I overcame many obstacles: I was accepted last into my class at WVU Law; I was told by others that I couldn’t succeed unless I went the traditional route (to a big firm and on the defense side first); and I should consider changing my name to be successful in West Virginia. Those things were all false: I became a partner at a personal injury law firm when I was 29, then got into my own partnership for a few years, and in January 2023, I launched Desai Law. I have what it takes to fight for your cause because I have always been the underdog.
