About Vanessa Patel Advocate

Vanessa grew up in a family of small business owners, and is keenly aware of the unique issues business owners face. She applies this practice knowledge to her everyday practice. Vanessa is a litigator and counselor. She regularly litigates cases on behalf of employers of all sizes before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in a variety of cases. She employs efficient litigation tactics to resolve disputes, including motion practice and negotiation, and aggressively defends employers to obtain favorable results. Additionally, Vanessa regularly counsels employers and business executives through the complex maze of federal, state, and local laws regulating workplace behavior. Vanessa guides her clients on best practices to avoid litigation, collaborating with clients on issues small and large to develop effective strategies to protect their best interests. Vanessa earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. where she was a member of the Tennessee Law Review and the Tennessee Journal of Business Law and was elected President of the Student Bar Association. Vanessa was also a member of the Pro Bono clinic, where she obtained a favorable trial verdict on behalf of an indigent client in a tenancy dispute.Vanessa is fluent in Gujarati, the state language of Gujarat, India and conversant in Hindi.
