Her current practice for The Harris Law Firm is divorce law and general family law, but her journey to family was not a straight path. Originally, Ms. Mallavarapu pursued a career in psychology, even earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Boston University. However, she saw the many legal pains her family went through, both in the U.S. and in India, and this inspired her to practice law. While at the University of Colorado School of Law, she also worked in both a Family Law Clinic and Criminal Defense Clinic. Her experience working in employment litigation gave her valuable experience handling complex issues and negotiations between multiple parties with aggressive agendas. It was when she went through a difficult divorce, however, that gave Ms. Mallavarapu a passion for family law. Today, her journey has come full-circle—she employs her background in psychology to help her understand clients going through rough situations, she utilizes her experience in employment litigation to craft effective solutions between contesting parties, and she draws upon her personal divorce experience to help her fulfill her clients’ needs in the most painless, beneficial way possible. These have equipped her in a way that few legal experiences could.
