Reena J. Patel is a Senior Associate with Hearne & Bailey, P.A. and focuses her practice in civil litigation and business organization and compliance matters. She has experience in various phases of litigation in both federal and state courts, including discovery, motions, appeals, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution. In 2009, Ms. Patel opened a law firm in San Diego, California where she primarily handled civil litigation, real estate, and other business legal matters. In 2012, she relocated to the island of Saipan, located in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, where she initially served as Assistant Attorney General, before being promoted to First Assistant and eventually Chief of the Civil Division in 2014. During this time, Mrs. Patel served as general legal counsel to multiple local agencies, including the Departments of Commerce, Labor, and Finance. Ms. Patel also represented the government in several civil suits before the Commonwealth Superior Court, Commonwealth Supreme Court, and Federal District Court. Most notably, Ms. Patel served as lead counsel for the government and successfully negotiated a settlement worth over $1 billion in a class action pension dispute.
