Rakhee Patel is a member of Winstead’s Business Restructuring/Bankruptcy Practice Group. Rakhee provides targeted and effective solutions to clients involved in distressed business situations.With more than 20 years of experience, Rakhee advises public and private companies, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, equity holders, trustees and committees in corporate reorganization, business bankruptcy, out-of-court restructuring, and bankruptcy-related litigation including preference, fraudulent transfer, discharge, dischargability and state law-based actions.Selected industries in which Rakhee has provided restructuring advice include oil & gas services, hospitality (including hotels, lodging and multi-location restaurants), distribution, manufacturing, aviation and start-up ventures. Following her graduation from law school, Rakhee served as a law clerk for the Honorable Harlin D. “Cooter” Hale, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Texas, and for the Honorable Robert C. McGuire, former Chief Judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.Active in the business community, Rakhee routinely speaks at both local and statewide conferences and seminars on bankruptcy, restructure and workout topics. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Texas Minority Counsel Program for the State Bar of Texas, and a member of the John C. Ford American Inn of Court.In recognition of her work in the bankruptcy arena, Rakhee earned selection to D Magazine’s 2016 listing of the Best Lawyers in Dallas.
