About Ellia Thompson

Ellia has spent the last eighteen years working in various positions with the federal government, media outlets and in private practice as a land use attorney. She concentrates her practice in the areas of land use, planning and zoning regulations, governmental administrative law and local housing laws. Her clients come to her for her extensive experience in land use entitlements, with particular emphasis on zoning and subdivisions, governmental administrative law, community outreach, projects located in the hillside and historical areas and environmental compliance, especially in relation to the California Environmental Quality Act. She also has broad experience in environmental review processes, administrative proceedings and land use litigation. She has been named a Southern California Rising Star and a Super Lawyer every year since 2013. She also founded the land use and environmental law firm, CA Land Use Professionals, LLP. Before starting her own firm, Ellia was an attorney with Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro LLP in its Government, Land Use, Environmental, Energy Group. She previously was awarded the coveted Pulliam-Kilgore Fellowship by the Society of Professional Journalists and worked in the Media Law practice at Baker Hostetler.
