Raj is a startup lawyer and former tech COO with over 15 years of cross-border experience building, managing and advising startups in the US and Asia. Having launched and scaled a tech startup himself, Raj intimately understands the risks and rewards of being an entrepreneur in increasingly competitive environments. Informed by his own experiences “in the trenches,” Raj provides actionable, client-centric solutions to help founders, emerging companies and investors successfully navigate legal and business challenges and gain a sustainable competitive advantage. Before founding Agile Counsel, Raj held general counsel and operations management positions at tech companies across industries including software, e-commerce, logistics, gaming, cloud computing and telecom. Among such roles, Raj served as general counsel for Sephora Digital (formerly Luxola) where he oversaw all legal and compliance matters across 10 markets in Southeast Asia, India and Australia, including the company’s acquisition by Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). Additionally, for over half of his career, Raj ran all operations in Asia for an enterprise search technology company based in San Francisco. Raj was responsible for building client delivery capabilities from the ground up, recruiting and managing a team of over 100 software engineers, linguists and lawyers, and developing the next iteration of AI tools to automate legal review and analysis for complex litigation and investigations.
