Lisa Helen York has practiced immigration law for over ten years. She focuses her practice on representing businesses and individuals, as well as families and students. Ms. York graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2002. She earned her Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1995 with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado. In 2014, Ms. York was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). For the past two years, she chaired the AILA national USCIS Field Operations Liaison Committee. In 2008-2009, she served as Chair of the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). For the past three years, she has been a member of the AILA national Annual Conference Planning Committee. In 2014-2015, she is serving as Chair of the AILA Annual Conference Fundamentals Planning Committee. She also currently serves as Vice-Chair of AILA national's Interagency Committee. She served as a member of the AILA national Ethics and Professionalism Committee from 2010-2012. She also served on the AILA national 2010 Fall Conference Planning Committee. Ms. York has presented on a variety of immigration related topics including presentations for AILA, NASFA: Association of International Educators, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
