Again, trust us the school team as we work hard to get the school accredited soon, so that every child of Nunmaan Tamil Academy will get high school or college credit for Tamil as a second language when they enter any college in the USA, UK, India, etc.,

Yes, and trust us, our school team has the knowledge and extensive experience to get accreditation. We like to excel and this time we are working on getting accreditation for this school from the renowned world largest accreditation organization “Cognia” (same accreditation as Troy and other local School district). With this your child can get high school and college credits that will be accepted by most states in the US and other countries, unlike other accreditation which is accepted only by a few states in the US.

If your child has attended any Tamil school, please provide the details of their grade level at the other Tamil school like transcript, graduation certificate and we will place your child at the grade level accordingly. If your child has never been to any Tamil school, your child will be assessed and placed at the appropriate challenged grade level.

Yes, we do conduct annual school competitions, annual year end programs, cultural and social events for in-person students so the students can connect to our Tamil roots. We have yearly graduation with trophies for all students.

Yes, we do take new students as long as they are 5 years old or more. Assessment will be given for older kids and will be placed at the appropriate challenged grade level in our school.

We have two method of teaching - In-person and Online. We do not have hybrid option. Students from other cities can join On-Line Classes using Microsoft Team from home. Books will be mailed to your house (shipping cost extra). We also have In-Person classes (also held Saturday from 3 to 4:30 PM in Troy, MI).

The classes will be held at Troy Public Schools in classroom environment. We follow Troy School Safety Plan. We have Evacuation, First Aid, & Safety Team. We have 12 years’ experience running school without any safety issue.

School will supply hard copies of textbooks, workbooks, & other required material for learning. All pages are colorful and fun for the children to learn. In addition to this, school will provide apps/website for your child to learn the language using the four skills (LRSW). We also have Online School library & will soon start school in-person library.

School will follow a standard curriculum that focuses on Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. LSRW fosters the students to comprehend and speak the language for proper and effective interpersonal communication. We provide structure to teach Tamil language in an organized, methodical manner with proven education standards using modern technologies. We also have ACTFL OPI Tester experts guiding us. We extensively use the ACTFL proficiency guidelines. Entire assessment built on NCSSFL.ORG Can-Do statements for each LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) skill working towards State Seal of Biliteracy. We have also developed special Speaking and Reading curriculum to help kids learn better.
