We used Universal Relocations to move our household goods from India to the United States. They were very efficient and professional in their service. The office team in India prepared the paperwork in detail and sent the ground crew to pack the items on the scheduled day. The ground crew came on time, worked quickly and efficiently, bringing in very good packaging materials and cataloged them precisely. The office staff both, in India and the US were in touch with us with constant updates. It was a smooth passage through Customs at the sea port. The goods arrived at our doorstep in a truck. The ground crew worked quickly and efficiently, unpacking, putting the items in place. They put together items that were dismantled for easy transportation, and cleared all the packaging material, leaving the house, neat and clean. The entire transfer of goods was done within the time frame. We are extremely pleased with Universal Relocations and highly recommend using them.

Short story - Legit company, Real People, No hidden charges/agenda, Mostly on time, Truly door to door so no stress or hassles, Good experience. Long story - I had spoken to over 6 companies and Universal Relocations offered the best deal for me. I had shipped 19 boxes that included two TVs from Michigan, USA to Chennai, India. I engaged with them 3 months prior to the actual shipping date and started asking other companies for quotes. I was a bit surprised that their quote was lower than all other companies. Jyothsna was extremely patient in answering all my questions. I think I paid initial deposit and signed the estimate. While signing the estimate they said they could pickup my boxes any time I wanted them to. However, Jyothsna called me up on Novermber 4th and said their pickup team is scheduled to come to Michigan for a different pickup on Novemeber 6th so that is when they will come to pickup mine. I only had two days time pack which was a stretch but I managed to. They could improve on this or at least inform us earlier. I had requested packing service from them since I wanted all risk insurance for my goods. The pickup team is a couple guys and a huge truck. They arrived on time with their own boxes, packing tapes and dollys and they took just 2 hours to pack all 19 boxes. They made sure my TVs worked before they put it in their boxes. I requested them to crate one of the TVs since it was expensive. After a few days I received the final bill and it wasn't too far off from the estimate. The shipment left on 16th of November I think and although they said I could track it, the tracking website didn't really work at least in my case. I received an email saying the ship would arrive at port (Chennai) on Jan 5 and that I needed to sign customs documents, send passport copies via mail. The shipment arrived on Jan 5 at the port. Jan 19th I was asked to come to the port with my passport. Mr. Pazhani and Ashok were there to guide me through customs clearance. I saw my TV in the wooden crate, good. Customs clearance is basically a customs officer going opening all your boxes and checking the items, levying duty on them. You would know the amount there itself. The next day I received an email with the payment which is (customs duty + bank DD charge). DD is how Universal would pay the port to clear the shipment. The charge was Rs. 695 for me. Btw, you may need to tip the porters that work at the port so have some cash in your wallet. This is totally up to you and Universal has nothing to do with this. These porters work for Chennai port and on my way out they asked me if I could help them so I gave them some money. One more thing I noticed at the port was that shipments by other companies there were palletized pretty lousy. Mine was wrapped around with a black tape keeping everything intact as shown in pic. I was glad that I chose Universal because this shows that they actually care to a certain degree. From the port it reached Universal's warehouse on Jan 25. Then I had to pay port charges, around Rs.2500. Again, this is something Universal would in turn pay the port so it is transparent. Then Mr. Rajan called saying they would deliver the goods on Jan 27 which they did. All of the shipments arrived in excellent shape. No damages at all. A team of 4 people dropped the boxes at my place. Since I had asked for all risk insurnace, they had opened all of the boxes and had me inspect for damages. They even turned on the TV. it worked. So overall I think they provided great service, answered all of my questions, were on time for the most part and did what they said. I would highly recommend them.

This is my second time I used Universal Relocations to move my furniture from india to Georgia usa. Both times they exceeded my expectations. Their. Entire team starting with, Priya, Vinay, Shahbaz are excellent. They followed up with me on every stage of my delivery and on top of things. Their packing of furniture is world class. I am impressed with the company’s flexibility and willingness to accommodate late additions and quicker than expected response in communication, especially before the shipment left it’s place of origin, which is crucial. I’m also grateful for their very reasonable quote, advice and price adjustments to insurance amount based on what I could afford. The shipment arrived 20 minutes earlier and the stacking of boxes was thoughtfully done. I didn’t want the boxes to be opened as I wanted to just ensure these were all as I had sent them. As I open them at my own pace, I find everything packed with care and silica gel packets strewn for keeping things dry. Bless them! Highly recommend this company to those moving across continents! I shipped my goods from US to Chennai, India. First I would tell the good part. delivery at Chennai was very smooth except for arranging the delivery. Shipment was in good condition except for 2 broken picture frames and a handicraft. Pick up process and handling of the luggage in USA was very bad, fedex picked up and threw the packages into the truck. On top of that the packing were redone and charged me for that.

Universal Relocation works well for small packages delivery from US to India (Carton boxes) based on my experience, I haven't tried for a large shipments through them from US to India. Only issue I had is that they gave a timeline of 60 - 90 days for the door to door delivery from US to India but in reality it took more than 120+ days for the shipment to reach my home. Customer support was very responsive for any queries but they had no control on the timely delivery. I had to follow-up multiple times with them to get delivery status. Finally I received my shipment boxes without any damages after 120+ days. I would have given 4 or more star if the shipment was delivered under 90 days as they quoted during initial enquiry.

I moved my items from US to Hyderabad. The US side of things are better and the staff was helpful to accommodate picking 5 boxes and a TV within a day to their warehouse. It took 3 months to ship the Items from their warehouse to California port for shipping. The Updates were regular over email till items reached my home. After 5 months of wait (May to Oct), items finally arrived with torn boxes. ( I was told its because of Customs check). No items were lost in the process. Overall Good experience. I recommend to use the service if time is not a constraint for delivery and use their box packing for any delicate items. ( My 49 inch TV came perfectly packed in a wooden box with no damage). 3 stars is for the time it took for items to reach my home

Happy - Disappointed/Stressed - HAPPY This is the long review but please make sure you read it as I have given all the pros and cons of the service. How Happy turned into Disappointment I used thier service to get the custom dining table which was 9 ft by 4ft big. The priya from Chennai offcie hleped to get good estimate and with all my questions. It took while for finalizing all the things as the contract which we need to sign before the shiopment hand over was little confusing with lot of unclear clause. Priya helped me to understand take out unneccesary clauses out. The real issue started when the order came to NJ. The contract I had signed was supposed to be for door to door service from Mumbai to Long Island NY. The person from NJ office was kept comaplaining that the order is ver heavy and I need to pay $750 extra to recive the door service. That person said its so heavy they need to hire another service and all. I kept in touch with Priya and she was able to convince the NJ office maanger to ship my stuff. Finally my stuff came up to my doors and see who delivered the stuff UNIVERSAL RELOCATIONS truck. Guys who came to drop the stuff off didnt complain aboout the weight of the shipment or anythings. My guess this manager from NJ office was just trying get extra money from me as they know we dont have any optiuion but pay to get the stuff we got from India. But Priya was so helpful in this whole process. If you are using the service make sure the size and weight of your shipment is inside the contract and you communicate the weight and size in all emails. Thats what saved me $750.

Recently availed services to move from NJ to Bengaluru. Happy to report all the stuff reached, no significant loss. The sales and other teams were very communicative. Available most times to answer questions, revise quotes as we changed our mind (as it happens). Team in Chennai lacked in communication, or may be it did not live up to standards set by NJ team. When the stuff reached Chennai - there was some lack of clarity on when the stuff will reach our place. But once got to Bengaluru, it was promptly delivered. And all good. It was a pleasure working with Universal Relocations Inc. They are professionals. I chose them based on the recommendation from a friend of mine who used them in the past. I took a 40 feet full load container from USA to India with door to door service. Every item shipped reached me without any issues except couple of glass wares due to minor issues with packing of those items. They were available to answer any questions any time.
