From the Business:Assafa Islamic Center Inc was established in 1996 as a Masjid with Islamic Educational opportunities. Although we have not been able to establish an academic Islamic School, our Islamic after school and weekend programs have been active. One student has completed Hifzul Quran this year. To the best of our knowledge this will be the first permanent Masjid in downtown of Manhattan below Houston Street.
