We visited Mishta for the first time, and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients, the wonderful service as well as the beautiful decor. This is not a place to go to for a rushed meal. The hostess called it a “culinary journey”, and the meals are definitely crafted as such. We truly appreciated the attentive service we received, including the chef taking time to walk us through the menu. We ate the litti chokha (a dish impossible to find in any other restaurant here), the paneer ke sule, palak paneer and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we loved the fact that the paneer was made fresh in the restaurant. The palak gravy had none of that heavy cream that most other restaurants overuse in their dishes. I was happy to see that even the rice that usually accompanies entrees was cooked to perfection with cumin seeds. The dessert was a special of the day, and interesting use of flavor combinations. The place is very reasonably priced for the quality of food and service. We almost wanted to selfishly keep this place a secret, just so we can always get a table here. But the love and heart that Chef Parthiv has put into this hidden gem deserves more recognition. We will be coming back to keep trying more of the menu
