Dipti Mallik is an Odissi dancer with over 25yrs of experience. She learned the dance form from Gurus Guru Raghunath Dutta and Ramani Ranjan Jena. She is teaching Odissi dance from last 12yrs and has been teaching at Shirdi Sai Parivar in Milpitas California for last 4yrs. New classes start in Dublin, CA. She performed in various cultural program Globally, including in India and in USA. Few of her accolades in the field of Odissi include Junior and Senior scholarship from CCRT India in the field of dance. She is a holder of Masters Degree in Odissi dance. Odissi is one of the famous classical Indian dance forms from the state of Orissa. References to the Odissi dance form can be traced back to 2nd Century BCE, making it one of the oldest classical dance forms rooted in rituals and traditions of ancient times. Like many other dances in India, Odissi derives its form and "rules" from Natya Shastra, an ancient Indian treatise written during the period between 200 BCE and 200 CE.
