We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring smooth service. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of previous Sous Chef experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel, or private club setting and demonstrates strong culinary, leadership, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret recipes, manage inventory, and process requisitions for supplies.
  • Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistent preparation of menu items.
  • Maintain proper food storage, portion control, and food rotation standards.
  • Schedule staff to ensure efficient kitchen coverage while controlling labor costs.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures and manage food and labor cost controls.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to staff; administer evaluations and discipline as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Operate all standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3–5 years of Sous Chef experience in a fine dining or high-end culinary environment.
  • Proficiency in all cooking techniques, butchering, sauces, vinaigrettes, and garde manger.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation regulations and kitchen safety.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 30 lbs., and work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and committed to excellence in both leadership and culinary craft.
