Bhima Ratha Shanti (70th Birthday) is the marriage ceremony performed for the couple where the husband has completed 70 years of age and the 71st year has started. It is usually organized by the couple’s children or in-laws or relatives.

Sashtiapthapoorthi (60th birthday ceremony) is the marriage ceremony performed for the couple where the husband has completed 60 years of age and the 61st year has started. It is usually organized by the couple’s children or in-laws or relatives.

Upanayanam Ceremony is also called as the White thread (Poonal Kalyanam) ceremony. Namakaranam is a traditional naming ceremony of a new born child. It is conducted after performing the ‘Jatakarma’ samskara, either on the 12th /16th /20th/ 22nd day . The father holds the child on his lap and writes the name with his fingers wrapped by Dharba Gaddi (sacred grass) on the rice grains filled in a plate. Any gold item like a ring or a silver may be used to write the name. It is traditionally believed that Boy’s name should have letters in even numbers and Girl’s name should have odd numbered letters. Punyaha vachanam is a purification ritual performed after the birth of a child, death of a family member and also prior to a Puja performed on any happy occasion. Mantras are chanted and holy water sprinkled in the place, house, land, over the people performing and participating in the Puja and also on the items used for the Puja.

Seemantham, also known as Pumsavana Seemantham and 'Srimantha' in Karnataka is an important traditional ritual in the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, carried out during odd pregnancy months of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th. The word "Seemantham" refers to parting the hair just above the eyebrow where the Goddess of Wealth, Sri Mahalakshmi, resides. This leads to the practice of applying kumkum to the parting in order to propitiate the Goddess Sri Lakshmi such that when a woman delivers a child, she is considered the embodiment of the Goddess Lakshmi herself. The Sumangali Pooja is conducted to receive the blessings of ancestral ladies considered to be Sumangalis. The Varushabdigam ceremony is performed during the end of the first year after the death of a person. Immediately after death the kartha has to perform Oonam, sodha Kumbam & masikam for all 12 months which ends with the Varushabdigam ceremony denoting the end of the karma.
