I have been a student of Kruti Dance Academy for 14 years, and it’s hard to believe that I am finally preparing for my Arangetram. As I look back on where I started, I realize that Kruti has given me so much more than Bharatanatyam. From when I was a little girl to now, my gurus, Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi, have helped shape not only the dancer I am, but the person I am today. They have taught me the importance of discipline, dedication, humility, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Every weekend, they have pushed me to grow into a better version of myself and never failed to instill confidence in me. Kruti has also given me a lifelong community and lifelong friendships that I will cherish forever. Kruti emphasizes the importance of family and support, making every long practice and rehearsal worth it. Some of my closest friendships started when I was 4 years old because of dance class, and the memories we have made together are priceless. Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi truly make Kruti feel like a second home, and I am forever grateful that they make me feel like family. As I prepare for my Arangetram, I realize that I would not be the person I am today without the guidance of Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi. I am incredibly grateful to them and to my Kruti family for never failing to motivate me to constantly learn and improve. I am forever grateful that Kruti has been a constant in my life for the past 14 years, and I know that the lessons that I have learned are ones that I will carry with me to college and beyond.
