I always wanted to learn dance, but it never happened in India. I moved with my family to Bay Area few years ago and found out about Netra and Deepa and decided to give it a try. It was absolutely wonderful, I am so glad I joined Bharatnatyam classes with Deepa. She is a wonderful guru and a beautiful human being. Children and adults dance and practice together filling the environment with wonderful music and positive vibrations. I found a wonderful family in Netra and made trusted friends while learning dance. Not many places offer classical Indian dance classes for adults and I want to thank Deepa for offering classes for adults who want to learn dance.

Netra center for arts and culture indeed deserves more than 5 stars. I am pleased to know Ms Deepa Menon Ma'am and learn bharatnatyam from her.
She is an amazing artist with sound knowledge of Various classical dance forms. She is friendly, fun loving, energetic, professional and disciplined.
She also has her own TV show Artist Today air every Saturday at 12pm on KTSF26 channel. Which is must watch!
I got lucky to see her live performance recently and I don't have enough words to describe how amazing it was.
As a beginner I had zero knowledge of classical dance. But she made sure that I should get right understanding about posture and steps. Which is more important to get correct basics of any dance form. My journey with this center so far is joyful.
I Recommend this center to everyone!

One of the best Classical dance group that i have ever seen. Deepa Maa'am is so good at teaching dance for all kind of dance lovers who want to learn indian classicals from kid to adult and her patience level is amazing!!Above everything she is an amazing personality. The Netra center incorporates multiple disciplines of formal Indian classical dance, casual Indian dance forms and arts.
Deepa is a passionate dancer and an engaging teacher. Her friendly attitude and encouraging persona help make Netra the best place for Indian Classical dance in the bay area.
I was lucky enough to work with her last year on Kuchipudi and am looking forward to starting again next week.

My daughter have been going to Netra Center for a year and she learn Bharathanatyam under Deepa's guidance. Deepa is a brilliant dancer, an amazing teacher and a role model to all her students .I really appreciated her friendly attitude and way of teaching. We discovered Netra Center for Arts just this autumn when we were looking for arts classes for our 7 y.o. son. And we were lucky to do so! The atmosphere is very kind and loving for the kids to learn and enjoy arts. My son looks forward to each and every class and runs to the studio, impatient to start. The teachers, who work with him, Deepa and Latusa (I am sorry if I misspelled the name) are very knowledgeable and really patient. The art classes are group classes, but the groups are small, and the teachers give enough individual time to each student. I have no reason to give fewer than 5 stars.

I wanted to rejoin Bharatnatyam dance for almost last 9 years but was very busy with studies and job so never got any chance to join. When I moved to the bay area with my family, I found netra arts for bharatnatyam and took a trial class.
I really enjoyed my first class. The environment was very friendly. And now, I'm learning Bharatnatyam from Deepa ma'am for last 7 months and it's been a great experience so far. Her teaching is methodical and thorough.There are good opportunities to perform in public as well.

Netra Center for Arts and Culture is full of tradition and culture. I learned Kuchipudi a few years ago and when I moved to the Bay Area, I knew I wanted to complete the Dance and Deepa is an amazing artist with extensive knowledge of Classical dances not limited to Kuchipudi. My daughter goes to her indian classical dance from the age of 4. It's been going great so far. It not a very overwhelming environment , so my daughter loves to go back there every week.

My nine-year old daughter has been going for the past year and half to Netra Center to learn Kuchipudi dance from Deepa Menon. She is a one of the most dedicated teachers I have seen and I don't mean only among dance teachers. In addition to teaching dance, Deepa often comes up with various ways to improve the learning experience for the students. Some examples are explaining the theory behind the dance, telling relevant mythological stories, adding basic music lessons, encouraging them to perform on stage to improve their confidence, maintaining a warm, inviting, and a 'green' studio with a small carbon footprint.
Deepa also has excellent contacts in the city, which enables her to arrange several programs that give her students opportunities to perform.
I am very grateful to Deepa, for being such an excellent teacher to my daughter.

This review is long overdue. My daughters have been going to Netra Arts Dance studio (for Bharatnatyam) for 9 months now. Our experience has been nothing but fantastic.
Deepa Menon is absolutely wonderful, very talented and her passion towards her work shows through her students. She ensures that her students are involved and are dedicated to learning.
Her advanced-level students are amazing leaders themselves. They follow their leader and are led by a perfect example of talent and passion.
We are lucky to have found a perfect environment for our kids to learn about dance, music, culture and above all TO HAVE FUN!!!

She is so friendly and connects to the kids so well that it provides a very warm environment for the kids to learn. My daughters have been learning bharatanatyam from Malini aunty for the past 5 years. Aunty is amazing with kids and knows how to make the classes both fun and disciplined. They picked up the basics really quickly. Unlike other dance schools, Natyanjali school strictly follows the orthodox traditional parampara.
Besides dancing, my girls also learn a lot about Indian culture in her classes. Most of the dance videos are uploaded to the website's learning module, which is really helpful for practicing at home. Despite her age, she is very active and hands-on during class. I also appreciate her attention to every detail, from makeup and music to photography and ethnic dressing.
We had a fantastic experience during the annual performance. There are also performances during Dussera and at the temple for exposure. Even during the COVID year, she went the extra mile by conducting Zoom classes and additional rehearsal sessions before each performance.
