Our daughter joined Kruti Dance Academy when she was just 5 years old, and over the past 13 years it has become much more than a dance studio to our family. This year, she will perform her Arangetram, a milestone that reflects years of discipline and artistic growth under the guidance of Dina Aunty and Shemoni. Watching her prepare for this moment has shown us just how much care and mentorship Kruti provides to every student. I joined Kruti as a young, shy dancer with a growing love for the art form, and over the years, it became so much more than just a dance studio. From the gurus and didis who nurtured me to the lifelong friends I made along the way, Kruti gave me a second home and a community that shaped who I am today. Growing up, I bounced around different extracurricular activities, but Kruti was always the constant in my life. After COVID, I set my sights on completing my arangetram, patiently waiting year after year until 2026 to make that dream a reality. Now, with my arangetram only two months away, I’ve learned not to rush the process and instead appreciate all the small moments along the way: birthday circles and “question of the day” with my students, the thrill of the curtain rising during recital, and the quiet satisfaction of watching myself grow as both a Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dancer. Kruti has also given me a cultural community unlike any other. Whether reviewing hastas and prayers or helping teach a Diwali dance workshop, I’ve become more connected to what it means to be Indian-American. The studio creates such a welcoming environment for children and young adults to explore and embrace their culture in their own way. For me, that has meant using dance to build community both inside and outside the studio. More than anything, Kruti has helped shape me into the person I am today. The skills, discipline, confidence, and relationships I’ve gained here as both a dancer and teacher are things I will carry with me into college and throughout my life. I am endlessly grateful for everything this studio has given me.

For the past 13 years, Kruti Dance Academy has been a huge part of my life. It’s hard to put into words how much Kruti Dance Academy means to me. Since the age of 4, I’ve been part of the Kruti family, where I learned the beautiful dance form of Bharatanatyam. Starting at Global Mall, I was a shy girl who was not interested at all in dancing. Over the years, it soon became a place of comfort because of my didi’s and Gurus where I gained confidence and formed lifelong friendships. Kruti has taught me so many valuable lessons and has helped shape me into the mature woman I am today. Through the guidance of Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi, I am incredibly excited to perform my Arangetram this July. They have always pushed me to be my best while creating such a positive and supportive environment. Their belief in me has given me the confidence to take on challenges I never thought I could accomplish. I’ve learned the importance of time management, commitment, and teamwork during my time at Kruti, which will help me greatly in college. I am forever grateful for the friendships I have gained through this experience. I will cherish all the fun moments and inside jokes, countless hours spent practicing for recitals, the excitement of performances, and working hard with my fellow Arangetram girls. Our daughter’s experience at Kruti Dance Academy has been nothing short of extraordinary. She started at the age of 3.5 in Mommy & Me class, through the years taking Bollywood and adding Bharatnatyam. Her time commitment grew of her own choice to include more classes & volunteering as a Didi to many little girls. She’s now 18 and preparing for her Arangetram, which we are anticipating with excitement! When I first started at Kruti 15 years ago, I remember clutching my mom’s hand as we rode the Global Mall escalator to “Mommy and Me” classes. As my 3 year old self bounced to the Bollywood beats, I would've never imagined the impact Kruti would have on my life and how far my journey would go. I grew up with Kruti. At first, I stood on the sidelines, struggling to remember choreography and afraid to smile on stage. But dance taught me confidence. My love for the art pushed me to work harder, aim higher, and take space in the center of the room. I fell in love with the art form when I joined the Arangetram class, where all of the dances I'd learned over the years came together. I'm so excited for my Arangetram, and when I take the stage this summer, I know that I’ll be ready to face any challenge in life. I'm deeply grateful to have a second home at Kruti and for Dina Aunty and Shemoni Didi’s endless support and guidance. Bharatanatyam and Kruti have taught me discipline, resilience, and joy, and I can’t wait to carry all of these life lessons with me as I dance into my next chapter.

When you're a child or teenager, your schedule is often filled with classes, sports, and extracurricular activities chosen by your parents. As an adult, it's different. You make a conscious decision to invest your time in hobbies, passions, and pursuits because they genuinely bring you joy and fulfillment. In 2023, I joined Kruti Dance Academy and over the past few years have enrolled in both the Adult Bollywood and Bharatanatyam programs. That has meant spending many Saturdays and Sundays in class learning steps, adavus, formations, and, perhaps most importantly, building community with an incredible group of people. Last week, we performed in three shows, and it was a wonderful reminder of the power of the arts to bring people together. I've always admired the Broadway-style productions at Kruti Dance Academy and the way they create an experience that unites performers, families, and audiences through storytelling and movement. There is something truly powerful about movement. Dance is a beautiful art form that allows us to tell stories, express emotions, celebrate culture, and connect with one another through creativity. And here's the best part: I started dancing at age 39 with absolutely no prior dance experience. If I can begin a completely new artistic journey at 39, then you can pursue whatever dream, hobby, skill, or passion is calling you. It's never too late to start. The only requirement is the willingness to take that first step.

Kruti holds a truly special place in my heart because it has been such an important part of my life for the past fourteen years. They taught me the importance of leadership, responsibility, dedication, and perseverance. With my arangetram only a few weeks away, I find myself reflecting on this journey with immense gratitude. Looking back, I am thankful for every lesson, every performance, and every memory that has brought me to this moment. While this milestone marks the end of one chapter, I know my journey with Bharatanatyam is only beginning, and I look forward to all that lies ahead.

My little one has been with Kruti dance academy for the past three years and is obsessed with dancing. Kruti, Dina Aunty and Shimone are able to structure a curriculum in a such a way that its fun learning for the kids. In addition I am impressed with the leadership development they provide for older children. Hoping that my little one will benefit from that as well. We started with Bollywood and inspired by the academy, this year my little one added Bharatnatyam. Most impressive is how the environment encourages children to learn self motivation.

We have really enjoyed being a part of Kruti dance academy with our 2 daughters over the past few years. Highly recommend this dance studio. My daughters have been dancing there for 6 years. There is no other studio in Atlanta that runs their organization as methodically as this one. Both the founder and director have backgrounds in classical Bharatnathyam dance and they teach students in a creative, logical and consistent manner. There are classes in both Bollywood and Bharatnathyam, so your child can choose one or both types of classes. Additionally, there are adult Bollywood classes available. Communication with the studio is prompt and clear, so always feel free to email with any questions before or after you sign up. Your kids will love dancing there because the environment is fun and full of energy. There is a huge waiting lounge above the dance studios with WI-FI, which makes it convenient to wait while your child has class. Don't hesitate to contact them! Kurt Dance Academy is the best and their name is recognized not only nationally, but globally as well! Editing this in 2026, seven years after my first review and after a total of 14 years with the studio. My original review still holds true, and my appreciation has only deepened over time. Dina Auntie, the founder and director, has been such a blessing to our family. She has mentored my girls in countless ways — not only teaching them Hindu culture and dance, but also guiding them with meaningful life lessons and values. Shemoni, the artistic director, brings such warmth, positivity, and light to the studio. As my eldest prepares for her Arangetram, it has been a truly beautiful journey to watch her grow under the guidance of these two gurus. The studio has become a second home for our girls, filled with memories, growth, and love. It will be incredibly hard to say goodbye after graduation.

My daughter has had a wonderful experience with Kruti Dance Academy! Even though we live four hours away and she participates as a virtual student, the program is very well organized with clear, easy-to-follow instructional videos. When we are able to attend in person, the teachers are always welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. She has always loved to dance, but through Kruti her love for it has grown even more and her skills have improved tremendously. The level of technique and choreography is truly impressive. As a virtual student , I especially appreciate the opportunity for my daughter to participate in the end of the year recital, which is an amazing show . I went to Kruti Dance Academy to enroll my daughter and ended up enrolling myself (Bollywood for Adults) - I wasn't sure if I was able to learn dance at this age with no basic and prior dance training… Dina Auntie and Shemoni are Pro dancers who have prismatic dedication towards teaching this beautiful art of dance… Shemoni has a unique technique to teach her students, even complicated steps are made simpler. I love to watch Bollywood dances and always wished to dance… :) This wish was made into reality and I was able to perform on stage in front of thousands… Kudos to Shemoni Ji for molding me. Also, I made some good friends along the way... Of course, this is just the beginning and the best is yet to come!

I enrolled my 5 year old daughter in the Bollywood Groove Summer Camp in June at Kruti Dance Academy. We live in New Jersey and I was looking for something to keep my daughter engaged virtually as we are still not doing very many in person activities. This camp was awesome! It was a wonderful balance of dance, yoga, and arts and crafts while instilling Indian culture through each activity. My daughter learned so much about dance, and symbols of india that she happily shared with the family daily. During the week long camp, Shemoni didi did a super job with the kids keeping them engaged and the energy of the group up. Doing anything virtually with kids is difficult, however my daughter had such a good time and thoroughly enjoyed herself as she keeps asking when we can do another virtual camp! Great job by the KDA team for creating such a fun camp and recommend to all!

To this day we can still remember 5-year-old Pooja jumping off the couch and starting to dance as soon as she heard a bollywood song from the TV. We even had to bring a lengha down, so she could “dress up” for the living room performance. We had the opportunity to fulfill Pooja’s dream of becoming a dancer when we enrolled her in Kruti Dance Academy. At Kruti, Pooja is immersed in her culture, and it is a pleasure to see her take pride in everything she learns at the academy. As I look back on these past 12 years I spent at Kruti, I can honestly say that dancing has allowed me to come out of my shell and be the person I am today. My time at Kruti began at the young age of 3. My first class with the academy ended with me claiming that I never wanted to go back, but little did my 3 year old self know that I would grow up never wanting to leave. Over the past few years, I have learned many new skills,traits, and lessons that I will take with me on my future endeavors. Many of these skills,traits,and lessons were introduced to me through volunteering at the academy. Volunteering allowed me to become even more connected to the art form and share my love for it with my classes. It has taught me so many wonderful things, but the most important lesson that has come from it, is to never give up. Over time, I began telling my students to never give up, but little did I know that I would soon live by those words. Overall, my time that I've spent volunteering at Kruti has really opened up my eyes to new opportunities and lessons that I would have never had the chance to learn otherwise. Dina auntie and Shemoni Didi have made volunteering a joyful and rewarding experience for everyone, and I can gladly say that I wouldn't give it up for the world.

I also enjoyed the lessons of life we learned as introductions to songs. Hope to apply at least a few of them in life. I can't wait to go back in August. My journey through dance truly began when I entered Kruti Dance Academy in its former Jimmy Carter location so many years ago. Now, after many years, I sadly admit that it is coming to an end. Attending this academy has taught me both poise and grace, along with the dedication, patience, and respect. Under the guidance of Mrs. Dina Sheth, I have learned to push the limits of achievement not only in dance, but in every aspect of my life. Throughout my journey, while learning valuable life lessons, I have also been able to create friendships that will last a lifetime and have become a part of a family that I could turn to in times of need. Dina Aunti has acted as a second mother to me and the Kruti students have become my brothers and sisters. My experiences here have helped me learned so much both about my religion and about my cultural heritage.This summer, I will be completing my Arangetram on August 9th. The preparation for such an event is tremendous, with caterers, invitations, and, most importantly, dance practices. I know that the skills I have attained through my years of volunteering and dancing have prepared me for this moment, and I look forward to every step of the journey. Although my experiences Kruti Dance Academy would be over, I will look back on these years with admiration, always holding the academy in my heart.

Dear Dina Sheth & Shemoni Parekh You both hold a very special place in our family and as dear to us as priceless treasure. We have witnessed the gifts you bestow on all your students. Naman has actually transformed himself from an enthusiastic 4 year dancer into a graceful and passionate young performer. Our family is equally impressed with the team of young leaders in your academy with commitment and helping new students to acquire a talent which will live with them and grow forever. I strongly believe that the time Naman has spent at Kruti Dance Academy will enrich his life and give him enduring confidence. Thank you for your dedication to the arts and to the development of our young children. Utsav 2014 recital was an example of a remarkable production. All the performances were breathtaking. Right from the dancers on the stage, to colorful costumes and the preparation and coordination behind it was tremendous. An entire world of emotions can be shown through, a tiny movement of the body, or even just a particular change of expression. It can show the dancers entire mood and feelings. It creates an atmosphere that is unforgettable and beautiful. When a dancer starts to dance, the whole world spirals into the world of dance. Kruti Dance Academy has opened new doors for me and led me to opportunities that I could only imagine... When I started to show a spark of interest in dance at a very young age, my parents decided to join me into classes. They first joined me in Bollywood and a year later, in Bharatanatyam. At first, like most little kids, it was just a outside activity that I enjoyed.As I got older, it turned into something else. With every year that went by, I started to admire my Didi’s and I wanted to be just like them. I would go home and tell me parents a funny story they would tell my class or something interesting they said.Through this entire experience, I have thought many times how much I admired and appreciated my Didi’s when I was growing up. Learning a dance from a Didi is a completely different feeling when you, yourself are the Didi. Many times in class, when a child comes up to give me a hug, or a tiny gift, I would feel warmth and appreciation.
